Fleetio is hiring a Senior Software Engineer, AI & Data (remote) for candidates based in the United States, Canada or Mexico.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will join Fleetio’s Product Engineering team as a founding member of their AI Engineering arm. You’ll help shape the company’s AI strategy, design and build AI-powered features that transform how fleets operate, and enable wider adoption of AI best practices across the product engineering team.
Key Responsibilities

Plan, design and implement AI-driven product features to boost adoption.

Serve as a subject matter expert, advising on technology, strategy and policy for AI initiatives.

Develop and train machine-learning models, optimize AI algorithms, and engage in rapid prototyping and experimentation.

Build data pipelines, perform data cleansing and work with complex datasets to identify patterns and anomalies.

Document AI systems, assist in hiring decisions to grow AI capabilities.
Qualifications

At least 7 years of software engineering experience.

Minimum 3 years experience with Ruby on Rails and Python.

At least 2 years in building and deploying successful AI-enabled solutions.

Strong familiarity with ML frameworks and algorithms (e.g., logistic regression, decision trees, Bayesian methods).

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, data science or a related field.

Bonus points: experience with NLP/AI agents, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), and React.
Salary & Benefits
